Bill Wright was born and raised working on the 1,240 acres of Smith Mesa. The ranch has been in the Wright Family for six generations, going on seven as Bill’s grandkids work beside him. Bill’s great-great grandfather, Joseph Wright, an immigrant from England, originally ran cows in 1848 when it was public domain.  He lost horses to the Ute Indians that were never recovered. Since then the Wrights have been a part of this land. Bill, and wife Evelyn, have raised their 13 kids in Southern Utah. Their sons and grandsons are the famous World Champion Saddle Bronc Riding Wright's.

We are proud to open the ranch to the public for camping and provide an opportunity to tour the ranch horseback. We offer off the grid camping away from the Zion National Park crowds but within easy driving distance. Bill provides gentle, ranch-broke horses for all ages, novice to skilled riders, for a great experience.
